| Darth_Azalin05-19-06, 07:05 AM | theres different types of poisons.. the wereviper has a certain type of poison probably from its bite.. it would be Injected class... why putting it on a weapon would be injury class as you see it shouldn't work.. since the strength of the "bite" poison (injected) damages because of its way of entry in the body.. same goes with contact and the rest.. so I would say no |
| RavenDrake05-19-06, 08:19 AM | Well, you got the right answer, but in the wrong way. There's no such thing as "Injected" poison. There's Contact, Injury, Inhaled, and Injested. As a Bite attack based poison(unless it's got some special spitting power) it would be "Injury", which would allow it to be used as a weapon poison. However, Just as you can't kill a giant wasp and smear it's venom sack on your sword and say "Boom, poisoned" you can't just spit on a weapon and make it poisoned. Poisons that are made for weapons are speciall alchemical concoctions designed to be stable, non-reactive to most environments, and difficult to dislodge until the weapon itself strikes its foe. You would have to distil your venom down into a viaple application sized dose with the Craft: Poisonmaking skill to make it work. Now, as a DM I would give you a break if you were to use the Craft: Poisonmaking skill to try and turn your own venom into a viable poison(Say, raw materials cost of 1/6 what the DM determined base price of your personal poison would, rather than 1/3, but no change in the time necessary to produce the poison. And you can only "milk" your poison enough to produce the raw materials for one or two doses a day, tops, without taxing your venom making capacity. I would also say that these raw materials would have to be used quickly(within 48 hours) or they would lose thier potency). |

| TheFallenWriter05-19-06, 04:32 PM | Depends on the type of poison and the DM. I use it so that if a sentinent creature with Craft (poisonmaking), they can do it as a free aciton DC 25 to spit on the weapon as long as it a bite poison. ~The Fallen |
