I've been playing for a little over a year now and i still have a lot to learn. Latly I have been wondering if true strike works with disarm.

Yes, it does. Read the spell description and the attack description carefully.

That is correct. But you still need Improved Disarm feat, or the AoO is likely to force you to waste your attack.

Use a masterwork whip for +3 to Disarm. Even with the -4 non-profiency penalty (for most characters), you'll still have a pretty good True Strike/Disarm roll, and its 15 ft. reach means your opponent rarely gets an AoO. (This tactic is really useful only for levels 1-6; after that, you probably have better things to do with your time.)
