ok in the campaign.. we all start off with a intelligent weapon that is like possesed with a soul of our previous character (because our old party died, so our DM infused the soul into our new party's weapon), everything works fine but there was 1 problem... the weapon is suppose to able to materlize it self back into the character for a certain amount of time.. but we don't know what ability exactly is it for the sake of price calculation (just incase we want to sell it)

I don't see a question there. I would have to say that that particular item would have no value to anyone except the character for whom it was "bound". At least, if I understood you correctly, there is some link between your old characters and your new ones besides just being played by the same player. If that's the case, that ability would be worth nothing if you sold it - since whoever was buying it wouldn't be able to use it.

If the item could overwrite itself on just anyone, it might have a price, but it almost sounds like a cursed item. Who on earth would want to buy an intelligent item that could possess them, especially if that possession was perminant?

ok.. maybe i should clearify the inteligent weapon... so basically the old party died out and they can't get resurrected.. and the new party comes with weapons that is infused with the soul of the old party.. ok.. ok so far yeah? now here comes the how should i say.. iffy perhaps? so we basically wanted something more special than a "inteligent weapon.." so what we did was.. we just basically took the character sheet of the old characters, strip them of items, kept their magic list and status (we actually have to keep the feats as well), and we shoved it to a weapon... [basically the weapon with the sorcer's soul can actually cast a spell on it's own]

what i meant by materialize is this.. that perhaps on amid night, the soul in the weapon will come back in flesh and blood (as the old PC's) for like several hour and teach the New PC's stuff (flavor wise, but mechanically.. it's just giving a little bit more exp) [they can't fight themself because their soul would be gone if they killed someone while in their flesh and blood]. the reason why i am this is because the party really has a steep learning curve (a lv 6 party of 4 people dealing with a fire giant, gotta have something to help out right?). and we intend it to be sellable with the new buyer having to deal with the same materialize thing going on (the story is that to get their body back, they have to serve 7 diffrent party [i guess the dm has multiple sessions, but it dones't matter.])

perhaps this detail can help you a bit

we don't know what ability exactly is it for the sake of price calculation (just incase we want to sell it)Sounds like Magic Jar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magicJar.htm) to me (or Ghost Malevolence (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/ghost.htm) ability)... but more likely it is just DM fiat (i.e. he just made it up), and it will unlikely add to the value of the weapon in any case.
