Can someone help me with this, please? My group is having a lot of problems with this on our game..

My doubt is:
To craft a magic item for a specific class, there's a 30% reduction on its market price. If I make an item for a specific class, a specific race, a specific alignment and that needs a specific skill, do these bonus accumulate (item -30% of its price -30% of the resulting price -30% of the resulting price -10% of the resulting price)?
And, to calculate the price to craft the item, do I use this reductions or do I just ignore them and use the base price without the "class specific" (or race, alignment, etc.) reduction?

For example, a wand of fireball (caster level 5th x 3 x 750 gp) would cost 11250 gp (market price) and I would need to spend (11250 : 2) 5625 gp to craft it. But, if I want to make a wand of fireball that could be only used by a chaotic good elven mage would it cost (11250 x 0,7 x 0,7 x 0,7) 3858,75 gp (market price) and would I need to spend (3858,75 : 2) 1929,375 gp to craft it?

I think most people agree that this price reductions should apply only when you try to sell the item (market price), not when you make the item (craft item).

at least, I think it work like this.

The best thing to do is to ignore the price break things. They cause nothing but trouble.

I alway IGNRORE the -x% price for a "only that class" or "only that alignement" and so on, because if the wizard is goingo to create a ring for a party caotic good rogue, he will sure create a "only caotic, only good, only rogue" item... Well, no way guy, too simple

And more of that. I told to my players
Well, do you remeber that "craft wondrous items table price"? Well FORGET IT! Tell me what you want and I'll tell you the price, no way to blame or rant about it, that table is TOTALLY broken if you use it more than as a vague guideline

It only reduces the VALUE, not the cost to make.

DMG p282
MAGIC ITEM GOLD PIECE VALUES
...
Otherwise, use the guidelines summarized on Table 7–33: Estimating Magic Item Gold Piece Values.

Prices ... in this book ... are the market value, which is generally twice what it costs the creator to make the item.
----

Lowering the raw materials cost doesn't effect the use of the item if used by the player making the item, so there is no balance reason to allow a player to make an item for a lower cost for hsi own use.
