| sindar11-19-04, 10:06 PM | I would really like to have modern or similar to modern firearms in my D&D Campaign, so how can I include guns and make them balanced against swords and other melee weapons. Thanks for any insight you may have. |

Those weapons are made for combat in D20 Modern, vs...mechs and buildings etc. Granted ppl could say a mech and a golem are similar but they are very different due to the setting/time of each unquie campaign. A great reference to firearms which we have used successfully is Iron Kingdoms, plus I did some art for them but that's besides the point. ;) They have a ton of firearms rules and they work out pretty nicely, plus they seem very balanced for a D&D campaign. The DMG does have examples of firearms but they aren't really as fleshed out like they did in Iron Kingdoms. Forgotten realms also has some rules and examples of firearms. They give load times, skills, skill checks, how to craft them, prof., a bunch of different types, damage, range, etc. |
