| Father Dale03-12-06, 09:23 PM | So what would the Craft DC of a normal arrow be. What would the cost be to create silver arrows. It would be either 15 or 12. 12 is the DC for crafting a longbow or shortbow, which are martial weapons. Arrows are also martial weapons. But every other martial weapon has a DC of 15, including composite longbows and shortbows. But arrows seem rather simple to make compared to, say, a Greatsword, so I think theres a good argument for 12. The cost for silver arrows is listed on pg 285 of the DMG and its +2 gp per arrow. So for your normal batch of 20 arrows, it would be 41gp total. Not sure on the actual process for making silvered arrows, it might be an alchemy check rather than a fletching check. If it was up to me, I'd set it all as follows: for making arrows: DC=12 Craft (fletching) check, cost 1gp for 20 arrows for making and applying alchemical silver to already made arrows: DC 20=Craft (alchemy) check, cost 40gp for 20 arrows But thats just me. Somebody else might have some more concrete rules on this that I'm not aware of. Also, you might want to check out some of the arrows in Races of the Wild. They have some nice variations on arrows in there. |
