So, this may have been posted already, but I've got an interest in an item that lets an at will, mental action to use prestidigitation. Perhaps in an ioun stone form? In any case, if this has been posted before, feel free to just point me to the relevant thread and feel free to leave it at that. However, if this is new ground (in one sense or another), here's my thoughts on the item:

At will use (unlimited per day)
a mental command
a free action to use would be nice, but not necessary, as standard is more common

I just need input about pricing, as per the usual problems with custom items.

20,000gp unlimited use of prestidigitation. Activate it the way you want it doesn't change the price. Add the price of the item itself to that. ioun stone is something like 100-200gp i guess

Magic item costing from DMG:

1000*spell level*caster level (1/2 for 0th level)
Value: 500gp

Prestigation at will is the most game breaking thing you'll will get ever.

500 gp sounds about right. 600 because it's an ioun stone.

Well, actually, things that don't take up proper magic item slots like Ioun stones cost double price according to DMG, making it 1000 gp for ioun stone to do that. Still, prestidigitation is worth it.

I know it's double but it really isn't 1k powerful.

I would put it into the hand slot personally, it just suits the whole trickery part of the spell...

Normally, I would too, but that slot's already full for this character. So there's no price modifier for "at will" versus #/day?
