Slayer_5 12-15-06, 11:16 PM	Ok, my friend and I are debating about a magic item. Ring of Regeneration. I think, because it is called the Ring of REGENERATION, that it gives you regeneration, with all the fun things that come from it (All damage being subdual, for one), and because it even says you can re-attach lost body parts. As well, for 90,000, it had better be actual regeneration... My friend says that the "Regeneration" part of the rings name is just flavour text, and because the description says you "regain hit points at one per hour" instead of "You Regenerate hit points at one per hour" it is just something like fast healing. He also thinks that because it says "and this allows you to re-attach lost limbs etc etc..." it is not Regeneration, because if it was Regeneration, it wouldn't need to say this... I think the arguement is pretty silly, but I wouldn't mind seeing what you guys think...
Mitchell 12-15-06, 11:25 PM	Yes, you can regrow body parts, and yes, you heal at a faster rate, but that is what it does. Nowhere does it say that all damage is converted to subdual damage or that you actually get regeneration:1 or anything of that nature. I side with your friend on this one.
runestar 12-15-06, 11:54 PM	You get only the benefits as explicitly spelled out in the ring of regeneration desc, nothing more or less. I am afraid your friend is correct on this count.

savant_warlord13 12-17-06, 05:31 PM	Your friend is right, except about the limb reattachment be automatic with regeneration. If reattaching limbs is not mentioned, it doesn't happen.

If you're interested in something a little more... spicy... you might try this: Ring of Regeneration: This white gold ring provides the wearer with powerful protection against physical injury. Any damage taken while the ring is worn is treated as nonlethal damage, and the wearer automatically heals 1 point of nonlethal damage each round. Furthermore, if the wearer loses a limb, organ, or other body part while wearing the ring, the ring regenerates it as the per the regenerate spell. (Only injuries incurred while wearing the ring is healed in this way.) The wearer takes damage normally from acid and fire sources, and a wearer rendered unconscious due to nonlethal damage can be killed using a coup de grace by a weapon dealing fire or acid damage. In addition, if the wearer is helpless for any reason, an opponent can simply remove the ring (or the ring finger) as a standard action, after which the former wearer takes damage normally. Strong conjuration; CL 15th; Forge Ring, regenerate; Price 90,000 gp. That seems worth 90000 gp to me.

Slayer_5 12-18-06, 10:42 PM	Actually, Pwned comes from a misspelling of Owned, kinda like Teh and The. Similar to Teh, it became common enough that people tarted putting it in on purpose, and people figured it was pronounced Powned, and I guess people have been writing it like that, but since it is derived from a misspelling of Owned, it is impossible for the O to be in there. The E is optional. :P
