Hi, i need some information on an item like this would be much appreciated.

price
anything negative about it except that my items also gets "anti'd"?
any saving throws the opponent can cast to oppose the anti-magic field?

I just made a grappler and can't find this kind of item in any of our books, and our GM think's it's to powerful so if i can get a price and the other info i'd love it :D

thanks in advance.

edit: Also is there a way to turn it on/off at my command? does it work like the spell only for a special amount of time or at my wish?

The antimagic torc provides an AMF 1/day for 25000 gp. If yours is supposed to be always on, it would rather more than that. On/off at will would be maybe even more expensive yet. There's normally no save or SR vs an antimagic field (with the exception of making summoned creatures wink out).

But I'm kind of surprised... as a grappler, usually magic is your friend. I'd rather have a ring of enlarge person than of AMF.

Ya I guess you'r right,

What does the ring of enlarge person cost? How many times per day can I use it, and duration of the spell?

Thanks in advance.

If you're into custom items as a grappler, check out the spells Balor Nimbus and Darkfire. Sweet fiery doom for your foes. For even more fun, get them crafted by a metamagicking wizard who can transform the energy type to something like sonic.

Also, Girallons blessing is nifty: grants you two extra arms, for 4 claw attacks a round! That's 4 grapple checks, if ya like, and unless you're a monk with flurry or already really high level, it's pretty dang sweet.

Also, check out the Mage Slayer feats. PHBII I think. Someone else should know. I've never made a mage slayer, but they could be useful if casters are your target of choice.

Mage Slayer is in Complete Arcane.

That would be a custom item... By the books, a command-word activated one would cost about 118800 gp. However, since those pricings can only be guidelines (the downside of the spell is supposed to be that it can be cast only by powerful mages who basically disarm themselves in the process, which isn't really the case when it's used by a largely non-magical grappler), your DM is entirely within his rights to design another price or completely ban it.

If you travel with a mage, a Ring of Spellstoring is probably the easiest answer.

It might be better to make enlarge person permenant in certain situations, and have the open ring spaces.

Thanks for all replies everyone :) Some nice info here.

Ya our GM kind of thought a on command AMF ring would be to powerful..

How about the ring of enlarge person? cost for a ring that grants you enlarge 3+ times per day with a decent big duration. A permanency enlarge is not really a good thing due to a number of things in our campaigns :)

Thanks in advance.

By the way, the calculations needed for custom magical items are right here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm).

That won't work tho, since that ignores the #1 rule:
1) Price by what it does.

Enlarge Person 3/day is roughly 4 times what the "last resort" rules suggest. 3/day Enlarge Person is roughly 8,000 to 12,000 gp in previous editions.
I believe there may be a cheaper (and more limited) Enlarge Person in the MiC.

I'd consider both to be too much for the effect given.
It's a simple spell that can be cast on others (so you don't circumvent a limitation like you would with a Shield or Antimagic Field) and that has a medium duration (not so long that a 1/day item would effectively last all day). That's essentially the perfect environment for the pricing guidelines.

Many of the items that are strewn across the splatbooks are priced so noone would ever use them (ring of regeneration is one of those ridiculous examples. Compare the price to a wand of Cure Light Wounds and tell me it's justified) - which is precisely why they often became cheaper in the MIC.
