the_icon 06-01-07, 02:34 AM	I just wanted to find out if anyone knows the whereabouts of a chart (or any information, for that matter) regarding the progressive levels of damage dice. I'm pretty sure that they range from 1d4 to 1d20, but I don't have many ranks in knowledge (damage dice), so I can't say for sure. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
JadeSpider9643 06-01-07, 03:06 AM	I'm not sure exactly what your asking for...there's a small chart of how damage dice change on weapons as you change size categories on pg 114 of your PHB, and the weapons table shows damage dice for each weapon as a small and as a medium size weapon. but it sorta sounds like your asking just "what kinds of dice exist?" And well I'm pretty sure you could find or have a custom made dice with ANY number of roll-able sides...standard physical dice would be d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 (rarely used but it's there) and the ever famous d20. then there's the less common dice...d2, d3, d16, d30, d100 (not the d10 with extra zeros) note: I've never heard of a weapon with a d20, generally if you're generating numbers higher than a d12 can handle you use multiple dice, 2d8 or 3d6... i hope something in there answers your question or at least helps somehow :confused:

It can be found in the SRD here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#weaponSize) Basically it is: 1->1d2->1d3->1d4->1d6->1d8->2d6->3d6->4d6->6d6->8d6 With a slight off shoot for the 1d10 stuff being: 1d10->2d8->3d8->4d8->6d8 -------------- As for the monk stuff, which has some wierd things (like 2d10), that is listed here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/monk.htm#tableSmallorLargeMonkUnarmedDam age)
the_icon 06-02-07, 02:41 AM	Well, what spawned the question was that I'm currently looking into designing some epic spells. I was looking at Table 2-2: Epic Spell Factors in the ELH (Pg. 91), and under the heading Others, it says Increase damage die by one step (d20 maximum). Sould I just assume that they're referring to the d4>>d6>>d8>>d10>>d12>>d20 die progression, or is there some other system I should be looking into?
