about price of magic shields and spiked bashing [Archive] - Wizards Community

1 - If you bash with a spiked shield that has the bashing propriety, does the spikes have the +1 enhancement bonus, as if you bashed with a bashing shield without spikes?

2 - if you have a magic spiked shield, with magic on the spikes (for example, a +3 Arrow catching Ghost touch heavy shield, with +2 flamming undeadbane shield spikes) is there any adjustment on price, like a woundrous item with multiple powers?

[EDIT]3 - can one bash with the extreme shield(the ope with +3 shield bonus) in the Races of stone (i think it's R of stones, my DM has it)?? if possible, what is the damage of a extreme bash?

[EDIT2] - is there any reason to get a shield of special materials, like adamantine of mithral? also,if you want ADAMANTINE SHIELD SPIKES, does the shield also have to be adamantine???

It's rather like enhancing a double weapon such as a gnome hooked hammer.2 - if you have a magic spiked shield, with magic on the spikes (for example, a +3 Arrow catching Ghost touch heavy shield, with +2 flamming undeadbane shield spikes) is there any adjustment on price, like a woundrous item with multiple powers?The cost is determined in the same manner as for enhancing a double-weapon. Shield and weapon enhancements are calculated seperately, then the total of the two is simply added together.

That is, you determine the cost of a +3 arrow-catching, ghost-touch, shield enhancement, and the cost of a +2 flaming, undead-bane weapon, then add them to the cost of a masterwork heavy shield and masterwork shield spikes.

[EDIT2] - is there any reason to get a shield of special materials, like adamantine of mithral? also,if you want ADAMANTINE SHIELD SPIKES, does the shield also have to be adamantine???Adamantine shield spikes penetrate damage reduction #/adamanitine, and silver or cold iron spikes by pass their relevant matterial damage reductions too. Mithril shield spikes weigh insignificantly less (2 1/2 pounds instead of 5) and this is hardly worth the price.

Shield and armor spikes do not have to be made of the same matterial as their shield or armor. Again, compare this to double weapons.
