| UberArne07-12-05, 03:57 PM | I'm sorry but I have got some dumb "newb" questions. If im wearing a Full-plate +2 (10), Bracers of Armor +1, Amulet of Natural Armor +2, Ring of Protection +2, Large steel shield +2 (4) and my dex is 12 (+1), would this result in an AC of 30? Does the protection from the RoP +2, BoA +1 and the AoNA +2 stick? Are there any negative effects applied to carrying a towershield instead of a smaller shield? For the moment I'm playing a 12th level Paladin/Cavalier(CW). If im carrying a Lance in two hands and declare a deadly charge (the uppgraded version of Spirited charge), can I combine this attack with smite evil, power attack and Divine Might (Charisma bonus added to damage)? This may result in a riddicolusly high damage if I'm carrying a +2 Lance and got 18 strenght. Is the damage multiplied the same way as a critical hit? 4d8(lance base.d)+24(str)+8(weapon enchant.bonus)+20(power attack 5)+8(smite evil)+4 (Divine Might) = 70-90 damage. Is this correct? Do I also multiple the damage from divine might? (was I correct to multiplie the damage from P.A?) If I'm mounted and an enemy wants to attack me, and not my mount, does this give me any AC bonus from cover? Do I get a bonus to my AB from being mounted? About how far away must I be from my enemy to be able to charge when mounted? Thanks for any answers :) |

Does the protection from the RoP +2, BoA +1 and the AoNA +2 stick? The bracers of armor wouldn't stack with the plate armor (both grant an armor bonus to AC), so your AC with the listed items would be 29. This may result in a riddicolusly high damage if I'm carrying a +2 Lance and got 18 strenght. Is the damage multiplied the same way as a critical hit? Damage that is a "plus" (strength, power attack, magic enhancement bonus, etc) is multiplied on a crit; damage from extra dice (such as sneak attack or the Flaming property) are not. If I'm mounted and an enemy wants to attack me, and not my mount, does this give me any AC bonus from cover? Do I get a bonus to my AB from being mounted? Nope - no cover bonus. About how far away must I be from my enemy to be able to charge when mounted? No less than 10 feet away, and no more than twice your mount's movement. |

The tower shield gives you a -2 to all of your attacks. It also weighs 50 lbs, but as an 18 str character, mounted and in heavy armor I don't think the weight is too much of an issue. The armor check is also horrednous, and coupled with the full plate, enemies will hear/see you coming from the next country over. Do I get a bonus to my AB from being mounted? Against normal foes you get the +1 attack bonus for higher ground. Against other mounted opponents, no bonus, and I don't think you get it against enemies that are also large or larger as well. |
