11-06-04, 05:37 PM Technically, a Bastard Sword is a One-Handed Exotic Melee Weapon. It can just be wielded Two-Handed as a Martial Melee Weapon. So, technically, an Adamantine Bastard Sword has Hardness 20 and 6 HP. But, a DM could House Rule that it is between a One-Handed Weapon and a Two-Handed Weapon, and give it Hardness 20 and 10 HP (the average between a One-Handed Weapon and a Two-Handed Weapon). It is, however, in no way a Two-Handed Weapon.

11-07-04, 04:03 AM I think, the 10HP would be fairest, because the bastad sword ist also called a one-and-a-half-handed sword and the hp are based not only on the material itself but also on the quantity of that material used for crafting the weapon.

11-07-04, 10:07 AM Strangely enough, the rules very poorly showcase the historical bastard sword, which was only about the same size as a longsword and was really actually designed for single-handed use but had a longer grip to give more leverage to a two-handed swing.....

So if you go with the more historical definition of what makes a bastard sword, you may want to consider it counting as a one-hand weapon for HP and Hardness.
