I know the general consensus is that every rogue should carry an adamantine light mace.. but a mace is a weapon. It isn't actually meant for cutting through metal bars and such. Is there such a thing as an adamantine hacksaw? If so, where can I find it? If not, how much would be a reasonable price for one?

There is an adamantine hacksaw in Dragon #360, I think it's like 2000gp or something

I believe the adamantine hacksaw makes a reappearance in Dungeonscape, as well.

Ahh Adamantine, DnD's equivalent to the Lightsaber. I mean, if you had an Adamantine combat knife, with like a serrated edge on one side, you'd be unstoppable. You could carve through trees, rock, walls, jail cells, whatever.

Or with the mace example, why bother? With a light adamantine mace, an average strength dude could break down a wall or fell a tree every couple of minutes.

Honestly, the whole 'ignores hardness' thing is a little silly. :P

!!!

It never occured to me before, but a warhulk with an adamantine reach weapon could demolish an entire city block in less than 6 secounds, leaving NOTHING but dust, and possbly a few lucky critters with HIGH AC or lots of HP's

you raise a good point about Sundering and specific dmg type.
like the example they give, Sundering a door w/ arrows...yeah. how about, no.
as for adamantine weapons, i never saw how a bludgeoning one would really be more effective at smashing stuff. i know, it's dense and super hard, etc., but how is that really helping smash the door? i mean, ultimately, it's the Str of the wielder that determines it normally and all and Piercing is right out usually. i don't know. just seems daft. how do you ignore DR when you're just smooshing it w/ a basher that is made out of some alien metal?
because of the ignore 20 Harndess, i mean, most everyone goes for the slashing hands down. even guys that aren't proficient in that weapon in the treasure pile are loathe to sell it just because it's so damn utilitarian. i guess everyone wants to be wolverine or zatoichi...

an axe or a pick is usually a better thing to demolish stuff with in real life, neither of which are blunt!

axe or a pick can get stuck in real live if you don't break what you are hitting, but this is a game so use what you want.
