| Tyler Do'Urden01-01-08, 02:36 PM | Multiple Different Abilities Abilities such as an attack roll bonus or saving throw bonus and a spell-like function are not similar, and their values are simply added together to determine the cost. For items that do take up a space on a character’s body each additional power not only has no discount but instead has a 50% increase in price. Just add them up. If anything, you should multiply the Concentration bonus by 1.5 because it's out of the affinity for an amulet. |

Multiply all but the effect with the highest price by 1.5. (singular - or one of several with the (highest) same price) Add all these together for the price as if bought new. Subtract any costs payed so far (original cost, previous upgrades etc) Pay the resulting difference for the "upgrade" Repeat the above each time you add a new effect. : +2 Wis : 4000g +2 Con : 4000g (possible x1.5(?) inappropriate slot modifier, but assuming not) +5 concentration : 2500g : +2 Wis : 4000g +2 Con : 4000x1.5=6000g +5 Concentration : 2500x1.5=3750g : Total value of item : 4000+6000+3750=13750g : Less amount so far (for a simple +2 Wis amulet) : 13750-4000 = 9750g : Pay the nice wizard 9750g for his work, walk away with your new toy. I don't think you can ask for money back if you remove effects or other wise cause a negative balance on the items value. |
