| Esponer01-29-06, 06:29 PM | Even if the Monk's Belt did provide Wisdom to AC, it would immediately be useless when you wore armour, as it states it works exactly like the monk's AC bonus. Furthermore, the majority of people rule that the belt does not provide Wisdom to AC for balance reasons. This is just a heavily suggested house rule, though. |
| IceFractal01-29-06, 07:59 PM | But on the other hand, granting only a +1 bonus to AC for 13,000 gp is pretty weak. I don't think I'd ever buy one if it didn't grant Wisdom to AC. |
| masterofmayhem01-29-06, 08:56 PM | The belt is not designed for non-monks, though. It's primary function is the AC bonus, but it also gives monks increased damage, as well as an increased number of stunning fist attacks per day. In fact, anyone with the stunning fist feat benefits from the belt, since it increases your unarmed strike damage to that of a fifth level monk of your size, as well as granting you the additional stunning fist. Saying it is too expensive for its benefits is like saying that a Phylactery of Undead Turning is too expensive, just because a rogue has it and not a cleric. |
