| Carte11-16-05, 09:26 AM | I'm running a campaign with an urban vs. wilderness gang-war theme (essentially ninjas vs. scouts). Other than the PH and Comp. Adv., where can I find lists of alchemical substances and other gear for ninjas, rogues and scouts? -Carte |

The Planar Handbook has got some interesting stuff as well (a lot of which you could easily "flavor-up" into something else. Otherwise, however, it seems to me that WotC has spread their alchemical matter pretty much everywhere (not to sound disgusting... ;) :P ). You'll find bits and pieces of these types of goods in just about every book. Again: I think your best bet as long as alchemical items go (especially for a "ninja" setting) are Complete Adventurer and Arms & Equipment Guide. Of course, no ninja would go without the Player's Handbook smokestick... The DM's Guide also has some renaissance weapons that you might be willing to use (crude bombs & stuff...). 'Hope this helps. Peace! * (Note that Arms & Equipment Guide also contains the stats for various Orient-flavored items and weapons.) |

I also have the 3.0 Oriental Adventures books which has lots of eggshell ninja stuff, but I was trying to stick with mostly 3.5 material. I'm avoiding blackpowder [setting: c1800, minus gunpowder due to divine intervention and predominance of magic]. Has anyone seen any Dragon magazine articles or extensive lists of these things? -Carte |
