Could a character with Fire Immunity douse himself in alchemist fire? If so, could it be used for extra damage in grapples, or damage to anyone who hits him in melee?

I don't know about your effects, but I'm sure that any opponents I had against you, and allies too, would suffer the effects of "Hideous Laughter", unable to do anything but point and laugh derisively.

Well, it only burns for one full round, so that wouldn't work very well.

I'd say if someone grabs him while he's burning, sure, take a d6 of fire damage.

Just whacking him with a regular weapon wouldn't hurt an attacker, though.

Agreed.

Just take Craft (Alchemy) and invent you some longer lasting alchemist fire. Say it burns for so many rounds (4? 5?) and does less damage 1d4 instead of 1d6. Crank the craft DC up some. There ya go.

Or you could just build a full body mesh suit. Then strap a bunch of normal alchemist fire containers to your suit. Or put you some adamantine armor spikes on your armor and have them enchanted with flaming. I would advise against wishing to be flaming though.

...But why would you douse yourself with it, when you could, you know, use it on someone esle and actually accomplish something?

Forget the alchemists' fire, and just light your tunic with a torch. Being set on fire the "natural" way doesn't have the 1 round limit, so you can wade your flaming self into battle as long as you like.
