I'm most curious about a weapon's enchantment bonus to damage, if that counts as "above and beyond a weapon's normal damage", and Power Attack damage. |
| Tyler Do'Urden11-12-05, 02:24 AM | What's multiplied: Base weapon damage (roll it twice). Numerical bonuses (i.e. Strength, enhancement, Specialization, Power Attack, favored enemy bonus, smite). What isn't multiplied: Bonus damage dice (i.e. Psionic Weapon, Psionic Shot, Psionic Fist, flaming, frost, shock, holy, unholy, sneak attack). General Rule: Bonus dice aren't multiplied, straight bonuses are. I'm sure there's something that isn't covered by this, but if you find it ask me. It's worth mentioning that this is the third thread in a week asking if Power Attack damage is multiplied on a crit. Yes, Power Attack damage is indeed multiplied on a crit. |
| terulian11-12-05, 02:41 PM | Ranger's Favored Enemy bonus? It's numerical, so I'd think it would, but then again, it's not really weapon damage, so it might not be. I dunno. I should probably look in the rules for favored enemy, but I can't find my book at the moment. |

| ShadowCub11-13-05, 08:26 AM | A Warlock's hideous blow: it's not bonus damage, it's a seperate attack that piggybacks on the same to-hit roll. how do critical hits work with it? I don't have any books handy, so this is how I -think- it should work. I may be in error per RAW, and if I am, I have no doubt that I'll be corrected shortly. ;) A single to-hit roll = a single critical hit possability. If confirmed, the damage of the BASE attack, including any +x damage modifiers would get multiplied. Extra damage in the form of +dx would not be multiplied. Therefor, assuming that the "hideous blow" deals damage in the form of dx, I would consider that "bonus damage" and not multiply it. :raincloud Conversely, if the "hideous blow" required a separate attack roll, it would have it's own chance for a critical hit, at which point it's base damage + numerical bonuses (but not dice bonuses) would be multiplied. :dancin: If I've made any sense, I appologize. If I've left you more confused than you already were, my job here is done. :bounce: |
