All against one

When more than one character/monster is fighting in melee against only one opponent, the ones with superior numbers all gain +1 bonus to their attack rolls per extra attacker against the single opponent.

Flanking bonuses are added to this bonus.

Why? Flanking does enough, and superior numbers already has an inherent advantage. If you're still finding it hard to hit something, and you want to put your outnumbering to better use, use the Aid Another action. Gives +2 instead of +1.

Something like this would be balanced if all the attackers had to take a feat. The Distracting Attack feat in the Miniatures Handbook arguably acts like this, depending on whether the circumstance bonuses from multiple users of the feat stack.
