anki 06-13-06, 05:47 AM	I was wondering if there was any reference for making alloys from different materials found in the D&D world?Like the combination of mithril and adamantium or cold iron and silver,etc... Is there a book about this or does anybody know about such things? :confused:
Kraleck 06-13-06, 09:21 AM	I don't think there is anything (yet), but you could make a system. Although I don't think cold iron would work without the aid of mid to high power magics (it can only keep its properties as "cold iron" if it doesn't exceed a certain temperature when being forged). tarkin 06-13-06, 10:10 AM	D20 allows alloys, but it does not discuss alloys of special metals. I.E. Bronze, steel, and other alloyed metals exist, but not mithral + other things. Frankly, it takes a lot of work to create a new metal, and people don't feel it is worth the effort to try and make it enough like existing metals to declare it an alloy.
Slivvy Gaidin 06-13-06, 10:15 AM	Volo's Guide to All Things Magical has a section on metals and various alloys. Its from 2nd edition or something, but the fluff isn't dependant on the ruleset anyway, so its all good. I wonder if theres anything similar thats been released recently
