Correct .. just gives +2 on the ally's next attack roll ... ergo: 1 attack ... (ignoring - for the moment - oddball things such as manyshot and/or greater manyshot .. :rolleyes: )

09-06-05, 10:30 AM As iterative attacks have penaltys (unless you are a high level monk), then if you really need that +2 for your primary attack, it will not be much help for other such attacks.

It can be done tough

you can ready an AID to be triggered on the second or third attack. Completely legal, for the READY action has many uses and the rules don´t says it can´t be done.

EDIT: now that I think it, in this way, this action would have more strategic value other that "just hitting high armor class", because it can increase the %hit rate on attacks that are more likely to miss.

Aid another is a standard action .. so no, you can only use it with your base .. but as pointed out, you could ready an action to sneak the bonus into somebody else's lower attack routine ..
