For 700 GP you can summon a CR 7, 75 hp creature (admittedly only for a minute a day) with AC 20, 3 attacks one of which comes with a pretty decent poison ability. If you compare that to the vermin the other sorts of amber amulets allow you to summon the scorpian is considerably more powerful. Looking at the general level of the other amulets creatures I'd have assumed that the scorpian amulet ought to summon a large scorpian rather than a huge one. Either that or the cost should be considerably higher. |

They screwed up weapon hit points (they use the pre-errata formula). There is no way that a healing belt costs 750 gp. The cost to create implies a 1,000 gp price which is still an incredible bargain. |

| Moribund03-16-07, 03:33 PM | I would say the MIC is very much worth it. It does compile items from sources such as Eberron and Forgotten Realms books, but there are significant changes. Specifically activation and (often much lower) cost. There are also a plethora of new items, many of which are very useful and seem like they are fun to play. One other thing that I think is a must: The table on page 234 and associated text. It lets you add the most common item effects (i.e. ability score bonuses, save bonus, deflection and natural armor bonuses) to other items. So your item slots are no longer used up by those items every player has to have. And no more woes as to what a monk has in his amulet slot. I'll take by boots of sidestepping of Dexterity +2 now, only 10,000 gp. |
