| Jason_Vorhees 1311-11-04, 10:21 PM | Ok I have a question, I'm designing a battle where my epic PCs are going to face an Epic NPC, well since my PCs are either fighter, barbarian, or ranger (with a multiclass in dwarven defender, blackguard, and arcane archer) so the only one who knows spells is the archer who only has 1 of his 30 levels on sorcerer, just to have the arcane spells for the requirements (and the blackguard has to low of wis to use any spells). Any back to the point, the enemy has some armor that gives him damage reduction (plus he has 13 levels in barbarian), so when I thought of how the battle would be to see if it would be fair, I thought of the archers main feat that he uses, Manyshot, and the question came to me, I think it is counted as one attack so the damage reduction would be used only once, but just to play it safe, if he used his four arrows would the Npc's damage reduction be counted four times?? I'm not sure and the more I think about it the more less sure I am :( Thanks!!! :D |

| darczero11-12-04, 12:20 AM | Since the Damage for the arrows in Manyshot is rolled for each arrow, the DR counts against each arrow individually, just like it would be for a volley of arrows fired by a small unit (10 to 20) of Archers. |
| Inigo Carmine11-12-04, 04:42 PM | Read the feat desscription: From the SRD MANYSHOT [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Dex 17, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, base attack bonus +6 Benefit: As a standard action, you may fire two arrows at a single opponent within 30 feet. Both arrows use the same attack roll (with a –4 penalty) to determine success and deal damage normally (but see Special). For every five points of base attack bonus you have above +6, you may add one additional arrow to this attack, to a maximum of four arrows at a base attack bonus of +16. However, each arrow after the second adds a cumulative –2 penalty on the attack roll (for a total penalty of –6 for three arrows and –8 for four). Damage reduction and other resistances apply separately against each arrow fired. |
