In other words, is drawing another spear a free action or a move action? Or is it even a standard action? The situation is this, I am making a rogue who only uses spears, and she has a base attack of +7/+2 (10th level). If she throws her spear and draws another one, does she get one attack or two? |

But assuming you can indeed throw a spear one-handed, there's two ways to do it. 1) Quick Draw. 2) Two-Weapon Fighting. You need to have the Quick Draw feat to be able to draw thrown weapons as a free action and throw them in a full attack (it's in the feat description). If you have a spear in each hand, you can throw both of them but you suffer two-weapon fighting penalties (that's in Combat). If your example rogue has Quick Draw, then yes she can throw another spear. If not, drawing the second spear was a move action. |

However I'd suggest going with two weapon fighting and throwing javelins or shortspears and darts. You'd get sneak attack with both, and you could back up to two melee weapons if you need to get in close. |
| realbombchu10-05-05, 03:49 PM | Okay, I think the two-handed thing only applies to improvised weapons (they're talking about page 113 in the PHB, right?). Thanks for clearing that up for me. I guess I have some feats to buy. |

The earliest you could get all the feats is Human fighter 2, at which point you could throw three light weapons at -2/-2/-2. |

You decide to attack using rapid shot (+1 full BAB attack, -2 to all) and TWF (+1 full BAB off hand attack, -2 to off hand, -2 to primary hand). You quick draw one into each hand, and throw them. You then quick draw a third, and throw it using rapid shot. Your primary hand attack is at -4 (-2 TWF primary hand, -2 rapid shot), as is your rapid shot attack. Your off hand attack is also at -4. |

He added his +2 BAB ;) |
| Tyler Do'Urden10-05-05, 08:27 PM | He added his +2 BAB ;) Yes. Don't forget Point Blank Shot. Within 30 ft., it's -1/-1/-1. Then there's range increments. And your Dex bonus. High ground, bless, throwing into melee, cover, masterwork weapons, Weapon Focus, and so on, and so on... |
