Hi guys,

I would like to make an item available in a game I'm running that would enhance the dragon wildshape ability.

The item I had in mind would increase the effective druid level by 4 when determining which dragon the druid can turn into and would increase the size limit to large. Both of these would only apply when turning into a true dragon, and you can't wild shape into a creature with more HD than you have (i.e. it only works for multiclassed druids or druids with racial HD).

The only similar items I have found are in the draconomicon. The first is a +3 dragoncraft medium armor that lets you use dragon wildshape once per day (it only costs 15k). And the second is a ring that lets you polymorph into a young red or gold dragon once per day that costs 23k.

I have no idea how much this item should cost and I really would appreciate some help here.

Here are a few things to consider:

It only works with true dragons and true dragons have a lot of HD for their CR.
The breath weapons aren't that great and most of them are worse than a reserve feat at those levels.
The gold and red dragons do more damage but don't hit as often as dire bears.
Medium sized dragons already have enhanced mobility and dragon immunities so changing the size doesn't give an edge.
Large dragons have a higher natural armor.

Thank you very much for your help.

I would use the price of the Monks belt, it makes the monks scaling (Ac and Unarmed Damage) abilities act as though he is four levels higher.
