(i.e.: the foe is incapacited or is impossible for him to defend himself and the PC takes a full round action) I think it's possible because Contact Spells are treated as weapons in many cases: - behave as weapons as they score Critical Hits or Critical Failures - are subject to Feats benefits such as Weapon Focus (Ray) or Improved Critical (Touch) - can score Sneak Attacks if the conditions admits it (i.e.: the foe looses his DEX bonus) So i think that can be easily used to perform a Coup de Grace action, but i've found no evidence in rules or errata: they only say that a Coup de Grace could be performed with any weapon (even a ranged weapon) if the PC takes a Full Round action and occupies a square near to the foe. So: is a Contact Spell treated as a Weapon in this case too? |

You could coup de grace with a touch spell or a ray spell as well. It states that bows and crossbows could be used, so it's not a stretch to see rays being used as well. |

A Ray of Frost is more dangerous on the neck than it is on the lower leg, after all :p I agree with this (simply because if there's no damage, there's no DC to pass), but I was wondering if there are official evidences somewhere... |
