One of my players wants to add what we've termed a "Greater" Spell storing enchantment into his weapon. For those of you who don't know, spell storing stores a spell of up to 3rd level in a weapon to be cast at will if damage is dealt. This is a +1 enhancement bonus.

So my question is, what would be the numerical bonus of an ability that allows you to store up to 6th level spells? +2? +3?

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Hasta luego. ;-)

I wouldn't allow a version that would put a spell of levels 4 and 5 into the weapon. The restriction is there for a reason, like potions can only be of up to third level. Wouldn't want a character storing something like Create Greater Undead or something and passing it off to another caster to one-use on the original user.

I would think about a version that could store multiple spells of up to third level (4 or 5 levels of total spells) at the same time if it were presented well and balanced.

I'd put it at a +3. It's a one-time item, but being able to activate a Disintegrate or Baleful Polymorph after hitting is very strong.
