Yum, yum! That Ebberon book was indeed mighty tastily presented. Perhaps I may want to consider either convincing my friends to GM an Ebberon setting or that I would otherwise do so.

I'm a bit confused though, so let's cut to the chase:

The Warforged have various physical upgrades at their disposal - either by feats to choose or by buying weaponry and such. One particularly fun-looking gizmo was the magical crossbow attachment. Seeing as a Warforged needs at least one hand to attach the thing to his other wrist, would a Warforged be able to equip another weapon on the other wrist as well to fire dual crossbows with no seeming penalties of note? Perhaps implement a crest-upgrade that would instead add a lanky manipulative hand that can fold against the chest and otherwise would be used for simple manipulation?

Sorry, had to add something after I first started posting.

Umm...I think the armbow could be used for two-weapon fighting, so yes, you could probably attach one to both arms, and your allies could attach it to the other arm. As for the extra hand, while watching Spider-Man 2, I got the idea of a sort of harness that takes up the belt slot and costs a lot, because it gives you four 15-foot-long extra arms that could be used to: Climb, walk, attack, and do limited manipulation, because it's, really, a lot easier to build four prongs diametrically opposed to each of than four fingers and a thumb. I think they would have around 22-26 strength each, and could be used for slam attacks that dealt 1d8 base weapon damage and have the reach of a whip...biggest problem:They have a brain of their own, like a malevolent docent...

This is one of your strangest ideas yet, Dinictus.
But yes, youd need some sort of harness/extra arm/whatever to (re)load the bows for you. Since you wont have fingers no more. That, or some weapon enchantment (I think its in Magic of Feurun) that autoreloads your crossbow from an extradimensional space. Still, I dont really see a Warforged give up both his hands for something like that.

The bow in question, Chaotica, can be looked up under the new Warforged equipment in the Ebberon manual. It's self-reloading, and uses magical bolts only. 20 or so it can create itself, after that, it can create bolts for hitpoints untill it has 20 bolts again (takes 24 hours, I do believe, from the top of my head). Needless to say, they're quite expensive equipment.

The hand plus arm I merely intended as a means of some manipulation, lanky and frail with a 3-fingered hand similar to a Warforged's, which needs to fold up if you don't want it to be cut off somehow. Just a means to attach and detach the battlearms.

Check the Arms of the Naga in Savage Species. There's nothing on it saying you have to be missing arms to use it (at least not that I remember), so you could conceivably use it for an additional set of arms.

Doh! Stupid new equipment!
It does like mighty awesome, though 20k an arm? Ouch......

Unseen Servant can reload crossbows for you, if your DM considers that within the scope of its "intelligence." What you have to watch out for is its strength limit- although it is not written anywhere you need a specific strength to load of crossbow, a DM might use it as an excuse to limit abuse. You also need two crossbows- one to fire while the Unseen Servant is reloading the other. Giving up both hands to gain an advantage from a low-level, easily dispelled effect is risky, in the long run.
