| BW022210-24-06, 09:51 PM | djinni, Weight and starting gold often make "standard" a bit hard to define. Silk rope is expensive, grappling hooks and rope weight a lot, the horse and saddle are way out of the price range for most starting characters after weapon/armor purchase, etc. My standard items tends to be small, light weight items which everyone can carry. * Dagger or knife. * Belt, two belt pouches (one for coins/valuables, one for emergency equipment) * Parchment and ink. * Chalk. * Candles (3) * Tinderbox * Rations (typically 1 day) * Sacks (2) * Fishing line and hooks * Sewing kit (needles, thread) * Extra set of clothing (good if you have the money, peasants otherwise) * Flask of oil * Cord, leather (25') * Any class kits (holy symbol, components, skill tools, etc). If you then have the weight and money, add: * Mule, saddle bags * Backpack or shoulder satchel. * Torches * Lantern * Additional oil * Rope (silk if you can afford it) * Hatchet * Bowls, utensils, small pot * 3 days of rations * Waterskin (usually not full) * Trade goods of some sort * Blanket * Wedges, wooden (2, 6"x2") (useful for quickly jaming doors) |
| Daxen10-25-06, 09:35 PM | Gotta have the candles. I don't usually start with any animals, unless I have a familiar. Some sort of Back pack and atleast two belt pouches. I don't usually invest in rope as it is expensive (silk) or heavy (hemp). Spell component Pouch for spell casters, whetstone for bladed weapons, a knife or dagger, some rations and a waterskin. Most everything else is character specific. |
