It is a spiked shield, and I want it to do attacks for me as well, so I make its spikes dancing. Do I still get its shield bonus or do I follow bashing rules, so that it can't defend me? |

It fights for 4 rounds using the base attack bonus of the one who loosed it and then drops. While dancing, it cannot make attacks of opportunity, and the person who activated it is not considered armed with the weapon. I think that if you aren't considered armed with it, then you don't get the AC bonus. Neither would you take the ACP or ASF penalties. |

Heroics Spell 2 level wizard spell which requires a 3rd level wizard, that lasts 10 min a level (Spell Compendium pg 113) so in the item creation rules spell level x caster level x 2000 x 1.5 for 10 min/level x 1.5 for odd slot placement. 2x3x2000x1.5x1.5=27000 to give your shield effectively shield bash. I errored on the expensive side, the extra 1.5 probably could be ignored if you GM O.K.s it, feat effects are actually VERY common on weapons, shields, and armor. |

Feats are dificult to price, but I do not think 27,000 is an appropriate value, or even 18,000 gp. ----- That said, I personally would not allow a shield to both attack and defend if it is animated and dancing. They are two different things, and I would see the dancing interefere with the Animated part. Instead what I would do is the following: Enchant the shield as a weapon only, making it: +5 Dancing, Defender Set it to be +2 Attack, +3 Defense, and let it attack as normal, defending you with the +3 |
