can you gain full cover from an animated tower shield? Also, it says that you still take armor check penalties and other restrictions when using an animated shield but do you still take the -2 to attack when using a tower shield even though your not even holding it up?

what do you guys think?

Pretty straightforward, I think.

From SRD:

A character with an animated shield still takes any penalties associated with shield use, such as armor check penalty, arcane spell failure chance, and nonproficiency.

can you gain full cover from an animated tower shield? Yes, but you would have to give up your attacks just as you normally would

do you still take the -2 to attack when using a tower shield even though your not even holding it up? Yes (it gets in your way)

LOL. just though i'd ask since he's the most famous mainstream D&D player who's "out of the closet" so-to-speak. If any player ever finds their girlfriend thinkin they're a dork for playing D&D, there's always the vin diesel card. ;)
