Now, we're assuming that it can run indefinitely as it has no constitution, and that we'll be able to drive it. It has a base speed of 6 miles per hour, so that's pretty good, but IO was wondering what the run modifier will be. It'd be a x3 on mules, but since this is an obviously more robust vehicle, we were hoping it'd be maybe a x4. |

Mules suck at running, so that may just be their own deficiency. Or, if you're talking about when they pull a wagon, then they may be carrying a heavy load which may reduce speed. |

Suspension Lifts 1,000 lbs. per lvl and lasts days per lvl as a move action you can make it rise or lower 45 ft. The benifit is you lighten the load for your wagons and at a moment notice you can be beyond the reach of most brute monsters and have the High ground to fight from ranged or melee. If you feel adventurous put on some sails. |
| obsidianrose11-23-06, 04:49 PM | How fast would that go (overland) and how hard could i hit someone with that? I'nm thinking that since we're off the ground like an inch, we won't generate friction. The cost looks like 800 gold per wagon for a 20 day casting (I've never seen it but I'm assuming it's per level) and maybe 400 per wagon for a mast and sails. |

In the air as fast as the wind blows or if you have propellers as fast as your DM says they move you. Ramming is a bad idea without a ram plate in front of the wagon as the wagon will take the damage you do to the foe as well . Check Arms and Equipment for the specific rules. The advantage you get is no matter which way the wind blows or how ruff the terrain you will be able to keep moving. |

| mvincent11-24-06, 01:35 PM | Would we be able to boast a ballista on a single stripped down wagon?Theoretically, yes. how ell can we maneouvre it into the right direvtion?1) An animated wagon is effectively a creature (a construct) and thus has no facing. Like most creatures, it can't turn in the middle of a running move, but that shouldn't be too great of a limitation. 2) Anyone on an animated wagon should be considered "mounted" and would likely have to make a riding roll to attack while the wagon is moving. 3) Ballista's were generally designed to be on swivel mounts that rotate in any direction anyway. |
