Ankheg Armor [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm fishing for some adventures and I was just wondering how much of an ankheg can be used to commercial purposes.

Firstly, its shell can be made into an armor. What are the stats for it and its cost on the market (the armor)? How much is the shell itself worth? Can druids wear it?

Secondly, some parts of it must be possible spell components? Antennae, blood, a piece of its shell... etc. Any suggested prices for these components as well as other ideas?

02-15-08, 12:39 PM The stats for armor made from most creatures, is that of whatever kind of armor you make.

i.e. scale armor from X creature, looks like it was made from X creature but has the stats of Scale armor.

I would think druids could wear it.

i would also think the components would work well in any item that dealt with acid, though so far as I know there is no "official" use. The price of any would largely depend on how much the DM allowed it to be useful.

02-15-08, 01:37 PM This may not be 3.X but I remember a time when an Ankheg's shell could be turning into platemail (+7 in current terms) armor. I think I've seen something about Ankheg armor for 3.X but I can't remember where. Assuming it does exsist it is certainly something a Druid could wear just like a Druid could wear the Full Plate made with Dragonhide, granted they'd probably want the heavy armor proficiency to make it a good idea.
