hey all, let's see if i got this right.

ok so when you are grappling and chose to damage an opponent, can someone with improved grab ignore the -4 penalty because they can automatically do lethal damage with an unarmed attack?

secondly, say i attack with spiked gauntlets (or armor spikes) in a grapple. i'd have to roll an attack roll at -4 not a grapple check right? but after i pin someone i can roll a grapple check to do damage?

They get the -4 penalty as normal if they choose to attack with a natural weapon. But they could instead use the "damage your opponent" option, and instead make an opposed grapple check with no penalty. Since they have improved grab, they deal their natural weapon damage if the grapple check is successful.

Yes. But if you have armor spikes, you can also use them to damage your opponent with a grapple check, and you don't take any penalty on that.

Yes.

Let's say that you have the improved grab feat and you are grappling with your opponent.

Now the question is: since the improved grab feat let you deal damage every time you win a grapple check, if you do a grapple check to deal damage and succeed, do you deal double damage?

A resounding no.
