The Sage's last Rules of the Game noted that if you don't make the DC 10 "Fight with Warhorse" check, either you or the mount can't attack. Could you take non-attack actions to your limit and still have the mount attack? Could you, for instance, stand up from prone, mount your mount, and then have it move and attack with one of its hooves?

In short no.

Once you mount up, you and your mount share actions past, present, and future. Since you stood up and did not quick mount, your turn is now over. The only real change is that the mount may double move and you can still get an attack.

Really? Even though the mount hasn't actually done anything?

No, not really. In any normal round, on your initiative, you get a full-round action or both a move action and a standard action, and your mount gets a full-round action or both a move action and a standard action.

You are limited to a single melee attack if either you or your mount moves more than 5 ft.

You can't take a 5 ft. if either you or your mount moves more than 5 ft.

There aren't many other restrictions on your actions or your mount's actions.
