I presume he can because . . . a). He has four arms b). He is stated as being able to weild two gythka (or is the plural gythkas? Better make that Part A, section a.) Part B If part A is valid, what is the damage bonus due to strength? 1.5 as normal for a two handed weapon or .5 for off hand or .75 if you apply both? Part C If part A and B are valid. Presume our insectile friend is armed with a Maul and a Lucerne hammer and has two weapon fighting. Now, since everything within 10ft is considered within reach, what happens during a Whirlwind attack? Does ... a) He hits everthing within 10 ft. Hard. b) He chooses either one and lives with it. If he picks the maul, everything within 5ft. If the Lucerne hammer, everything 10ft away. c) Weakened by Part B, the multiverse finally gives in and collapses in on itself, annihilating all people, monsters, small buildings, large buildings, planets, demigods, gods, overgods, overovergods, small fluffy animals and sweet little children named timmy within? (Would it really be that bad? Just to see what would happen.) Any help GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

As for Whirlwind Attack, you don't get extra attacks from wielding more than one weapon. But there is nothing against using both weapons in the Whirlwind, using one or the other against any given enemy. So you can make one melee attack against the enemies you can reach with your hammer, and any that you couldn't reach, you can attack once with your reach weapon. Note this gets excessive when you 5-foot step in the middle, which is definitely allowed. Argue this out with your DM *before* trying to use any of this, because far too often they would knee-jerk rule against it and totally bone you. But here's the real secret- don't let thrikeen in your game! |

| Blairconz09-23-05, 08:25 PM | Play it safe: give it a Strength of 10. Nah, this is for a high strength build. I figure with the Thri Kreen's already large bonus to Dex, devoting him to strength while retaining the TWF chain shouldn't be an issue. |
