Ok, I got another one. What exactly could an animal (i.e. Tiger) wearas equipment. I know they can use armor if crafted properly, but what about weapons or gauntlets? Can they use rings, belts, gloves, etc. etc. This has confused me for a bit, and I looked in savage species, but I didn't find any info. Also, if you wonder whether an animal has the intelligence to use a weapon, my animal companion is an improved version call familiar companion(from the PrC Arcane Hierophant) and has the intelligence of a normal familiar.
Basically, it said in the SS that the dancing weapon enchantment can allow creature with non-humanoid structure to use shields/weapons, so what else is possible I wonder. More over, a glove or gauntlet could be fitted for a paw, right?

Thanks for the help. These Forum always have a good answer.

this was my old questions
Ok, I need clairification.

I'll use a tiger as the my example. It has two claw attacks and a bite

So, it says that the two claws are primary and the bite is secondary. So I only take the -5 to hit on the bite. What if the tiger's BAB goes to +6. Does he get extra attacks with his claw, his bite, or none. Also, how does the feat rapid strike come into play. It says that an animal get an extra attack at -5, so when does this feat come into play. If a human has two natual weapon, his first one gets all the extra attacks of a high BAB on his main weapon, so shouldn't an animal or a monster get the same extra attacks.

Secondly, what are good feats to give an animal companion. The feat selection in the MM isn't great, and I would like to find some nice animal feat, but don't know where to look.

Thanks

You will never get extra attacks from natural weapons with a high bab. A tiger will forever be stuck with those 3 natural attacks no matter how high a bab it may have.

I am not too familiar with the rapidstrike feat, so I will let someone else tackle that question. :)

Improved Natural Armor up the ying-yang seems to be working fine for a Druid/Riding Dog combo I've partied with.

Otherwise, animals can take any feat for which they qualify, so Power Attack may not be a bad idea, as animals will often find themselves against a guy they can't hit except with a 20 anyway.

My ears are burning...But seriously, the RAW doesn't really cover what animal can and cannot wear [I think] because they vary too greatly in form to cover them all, so it leaves it to common sense. I would think a tiger could wear a suit of barding, a cloak maybe, a collar/necklace, MAYBE bracers, but certainly not gloves or gauntlets, Rings would be difficult unless perfectly fitted for it's claws (or on a hand of glory), a belt maybe. Like I said, it's really up to what makes sense when it comes to non-humanoids...As for feats, there's lots of stuff you can do to increase versatility, but Improved Natural Armor never hurts to take.

The ambiguity of animal equipment leads me to think most all equipment could be used by animals, provived that the item is crafted to fit the animal's body parts. For instantace, I know a druid can get special attachments for their animals that increase claw damage (I think its in Arms and Equip or Masters of the Wild). They simply equip them to their paws. It doesn't seem like to big a strech to have a modified form of slashing gauntlets equiped to an animal. A belt is merely a piece of leather, so why couldn't an animal were one wrapped around its mid section.

The reason I ask is because at the end game, it seems like animal companions become less and less valuable because magic items create a gap between player and companion. In order to have a worthwhile companion in highlevels, there must be a way to increase its prowess beyond feats and extra hitdice. If anyone has a suggestion about this, I would love to hear it.
