Any dwarvish reach weapons? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Is there any reach weapons out there witch dwarves can use. I have hard time to believe that e.g. Halberd is very effective at those short hands…

12-14-04, 11:05 AM What he ^ said. Dwarves are medium size so can use normal sized reach weapons. Try a glaive gisarme... they're fun.

12-14-04, 05:20 PM BTW, it dwarven. Dwarvish is confusing. Dwarfish is the real-life short people. Dwarven is the race. Dwarvish, and for that matter, Dwarfen, mean nothing.

youre right- theres also a very similar weapon in the complete warrior (heavy poleaxe). the only diff. is the dwarven warpike can trip and the poleaxe can't.

P.S.- if you us a warpike, dont take EWP for it, instead use improved weapon familiarity and also pick up a buckler-axe. it wont interfere with the warpike at all, and it is a free action to hold the warpike in 1 hand so you can use the buckler-axe in close range. it also gives you a handy light slashing weapon to cut your way out if you get swallowed. this of course assumes that you are playing a dwarf.

12-20-04, 05:55 PM Small character use reach weapons with the same reach as medium characters they just do less damage (just like non reach weapons)
