| Me, Myself, & 101 others07-20-07, 03:07 AM | I know there's an airship listed in the Eberron Campaign setting, and another in the explorer's guide to eberron. But, does anyone know of other airships mentioned? Especially in other campaign settings/generic supplements. Thanks :) |
| Anathema07-20-07, 04:10 AM | There's the Astral Skiff in the Planar Handbook, and the Halruaan Skyship in the Shining South (FR) book. I don't know if there are any others, but I don't think I've seen one. |

You could also use Stronghold Builder's Handbook (also 3.0) to build a ship-like wooden castle. Both of these being 3.0, they need DM-approval for a use in 3.5, but my view at them is that they're not overpowered. I think (without certainty) that Stormwrack has a 3.5 adaptation Keel of Cloudsomething which allows a ship to fly - although I might be wrong. If it doesn't, it's in 3.0 AEG too. One of last year's Dragon mag also has an airship - but I don't remember which issue. Although it's 3.5, it's not WotC, so DM-approval required again. You could also sculpt a Skyberg (Frostburn) in the shape of a ship and use control winds spells to guide it. Otherwise, Dragon #250 or 247 (or the like) had very nice airships manned by half-drows. It's 2.5, indeed.;) |

| Lawkeeper07-20-07, 09:35 AM | And they're hugely expensive (400.000 gp apiece for ships that are still small) compared to dirigibles or Eberron's airships (90.000 gp for huge ships).:( |
| tarkin07-20-07, 10:07 AM | Dragon Issue # 332, had a way to enchant a boat made of a dead dragon, so that it can fly. Article written by Andrew Tarkin Coleman. |
| Amaril07-20-07, 11:02 AM | Whispers of the Vampire's Blade has a map of another airship, as does Voyage of the Golden Dragon. |
| Lawkeeper07-20-07, 11:05 AM | Oh, it's maps you're looking for ? I found one on the dundjinni forum, of an eberronian airship. Look there : http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=1350&PN=5. |

Look there : http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=1350&PN=5. OP didn't really specify. I just threw those out there. In fact, the OP didn't even specify if they had to have bound elementals or just some sort of flying mechanism. |
| Me, Myself, & 101 others07-20-07, 02:54 PM | Don't specifically need maps, more looking for examples on their creation, locomotion, and statistics. We're hopefully starting up a new campaign and I think creating an airship would be a good long-term goal, they sound fun. But I think it's pretty unlikely we would be playing in eberron, because some of the other players are kinda psionic-phobic so it's unlikely we'd play in a campaign world with a lot of psionics. It's too bad, because I don't mind psionics and I really like the flavor of eberron. So I'm looking to gather up as many examples of airships as possible. I'll just go down the list until I find one that the DM approves of. Thanks for the help so far. I thought I'd seen one in FR, but I couldn't rememeber where. I checked a couple books but couldn't find it. I don't know how I forgot about the zepplins in arms and equipment. I think I even read over that recently, but before I came up with this goal, so I just forgot all about it. I think I'd pass on the dead-dragon ship, that doesn't seem very dashing and I just know some even bigger dragon will fly by and object. I'll have to try and look up the issues of dragon. If anyone has any other examples, that'd be great. |
