| DarkAngelPrime05-20-07, 12:37 PM | I'll start this out by coming clean. The reason I'm asking about this is because I really don't want to spend the gold to do this the old-fashioned way. I'm currently playing a Warforged Warblade 7 wielding a +1 Keen Greatsword, and I just stumbled upon the sheer sweetness of the Jovar from Planar Handbook, and I want to upgrade. I have maxed out ranks in weaponsmithing and there's an NPC blacksmith in Sharn that the DM lets me work with when we have downtime in exchange for a price break on some of my stuff. Since the Jovar is described as being much like a Greatsword, I'd like to reforge my current sword into a Jovar ideally retaining the enchantments on it. I'm even going to pop over to Fighter for a level to get the proficiency feat. Is there anything in any book that addresses something like this, or am I stuck just trying to hash it out with the DM from scratch? Obviously some cost would be incurred; I'd just like not to have to buy the whole thing new with only the half-price trade-in on my current Greatsword. As a precedent for such a thing, I could point to Narsil being reforged into Andúril in LOTR, though it's not exactly the same thing. |

He can probably give you a special quest, getting a piece of enchanted mithril to be add to the alloy of the sword so the magic is not lost, or something like what Roy (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0134.html) did. |
| Knightblde05-20-07, 01:20 PM | I do not have the Planar Handbook, not even sure what it is, so I do not know what a Jovar is, but if it is a two handed weapon, just add the morphing ability to your sword and you are all set. It is in the Magic Item Conpendium. |

Morphing is absolutely perfect, though! I can even get rid of my MW Heavy Flail, because I'll just be able to turn my primary weapon into it, and then it'll be +1! Thanks! FYI, a Jovar is an Exotic Weapon that is used on Celestia I think. It's basically the same stats as a Greatsword except its critical range is 18-20/x2, so when the keen gets applied to it... |

You forgot to mention the required exotic weapon proficientcy and the 500 GP cost for a normal one. |
