Plothos 04-23-07, 01:21 AM	Short answer: Yes, you can avoid AoO's by stepping out of range of their attacks. Longer answer: AoO's are triggered by performing a triggering action, such as firing a ranged weapon when you are threatened by an enemy. Thus, if your opponent threatens you when you fire, you provoke an AoO. But if he doesn't, then you don't. If you take a 5' step that places you in a square the opponent does not threaten, you will not provoke an AoO. However, if you 5' step into a square he does still threaten, then you would provoke one. PS: Are those Blind Guardian references I'm seeing?
