| Jut07-16-07, 12:13 PM | Okay all, I am super new to D&D and I looked about the last 5 pages and didn't see this, so I am sorry if this has been brought up a 1,000 times before. (they need a search function!) Am I correct that you can only have 1 AoO per round? (baring Combat Reflexes?) There is another Combat Feat (name is escaping me) that lets me take an AoO that is my base attack + dex mod window when someone goes to strike me and fails and falls within that window of numbers. So my question is that if I took an AoO when they moved in for the strike, can I use this Feat to make another AoO or do I have to wait for a future round? Does a Bull Rush trump Combat Reflexes? or how do you get an AoO on a Bull Rushing/Charing opponent? Thanks all for your help, I appreciate it! Jut |

So my question is that if I took an AoO when they moved in for the strike, can I use this Feat to make another AoO or do I have to wait for a future round?from the rules (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/attacksOfOpportunity.htm#makinganAttacko fOpportunity): "Combat Reflexes and Additional Attacks of Opportunity If you have the Combat Reflexes feat you can add your Dexterity modifier to the number of attacks of opportunity you can make in a round. This feat does not let you make more than one attack for a given opportunity, but if the same opponent provokes two attacks of opportunity from you, you could make two separate attacks of opportunity (since each one represents a different opportunity). Moving out of more than one square threatened by the same opponent in the same round doesn’t count as more than one opportunity for that opponent. All these attacks are at your full normal attack bonus. " how do you get an AoO on a Bull Rushing/Charing opponent?Bullrushing provokes an AoO from your target, while both Bull Rushing and Charging provoke as normal from their movement. From the Standard Actions table (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#standardActions): "Regardless of the action, if you move out of a threatened square, you usually provoke an attack of opportunity. This column indicates whether the action itself, not moving, provokes an attack of opportunity." |

You don’t have to make an attack of opportunity if you don’t want to. " (from d20srd.org) Quote: "There is another Combat Feat (name is escaping me) that lets me take an AoO that is my base attack + dex mod window when someone goes to strike me and fails and falls within that window of numbers. I'm not aware of another feat, other than Combat Reflexes that grants addtional attacks. It likely exists...I'm not a feat expert. You can only make 1 AoO per action which triggers an AoO...I'm not aware of a feat that would allow you to do this. Bull Rush: An opponent charging you to attack with a weapon will not trigger an AoO, but charging to bull rush you will trigger an AoO.Here's the rules on Bull Rush, from d20srd.org: "Initiating a Bull Rush First, you move into the defender’s space. Doing this provokes an attack of opportunity from each opponent that threatens you, including the defender. (If you have the Improved Bull Rush feat, you don’t provoke an attack of opportunity from the defender.) Any attack of opportunity made by anyone other than the defender against you during a bull rush has a 25% chance of accidentally targeting the defender instead, and any attack of opportunity by anyone other than you against the defender likewise has a 25% chance of accidentally targeting you. (When someone makes an attack of opportunity, make the attack roll and then roll to see whether the attack went astray.)" Hope that helps. |
| Jut07-16-07, 12:59 PM | DOH! I meant Improved Bull Rush. Is there a way to get at AoO with someone using IBR against you? So you can make more than 1 AoO, provided that there is another oppertunity presented? (and have the ability/feat to make another AoO) Thanks for all the help. Jut |

So you can make more than 1 AoO, provided that there is another oppertunity presented? (and have the ability/feat to make another AoO) Thanks for all the help. Jut Yes. If you have Combat Reflexes and a dexterity modifier greater than 0 and more than one opportunity presents itself. Don't be confused with v3.0 though (if you played the old edition) where you could only ever made 1 AoO against a creature in a round, regardless of the number of opportunities. You may now make multiple AoOs against the same creature for each unique opportunity it presents, provided you have the AoOs to do so. |
