I can't seem to find info to the contrary so figured id ask here. Ive skimmed through the Rule of the Game article and the PHB but cant find anything there.

Is a Monks Flurry of Blows ability a Standard Action or Full Round Action?

If it is a Standard Action does this mean that if a creature provokes an Attack of Opportunity from a monk is he entitled to execute a full flurry against that foe to satisfy the attack of opportunity?

it says right there that...

A monk must use a full attack action to strike with a flurry of blows.

thus your other question is no, plus AoO's doesnt work that way either.

Baring a specific feat or special ability (such as pounce) that states otherwise, the only way to get more than one attack is with a full attack action.
