AoO and other attacks [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-24-04, 12:39 PM If you get an AoO, do you have to only do an attack with it? Like if I get an AoO from some one standing up from being prone, can I make a trip/sunder/ect attack with my AoO?

If you check the combat section, there is a table that summarizes the list of actions you can do .. under each action, it also details when you can use them ..

There are a number of actions you can take during an AoO .. Trip and Disarm are 2 that come immediately to mind ..

Some others are argued about on these boards elsewhere, and I'm not going to raise that can of worms on this thread ... (it doesn't belong) .. :smirk:

.. but yeah .. check the combat section, and check the charts out, as well as the specific actions you want to try ... they'll let you know if you can or cannot ..

09-24-04, 05:21 PM So lets say I trip my tartet, with the feat Improved trip, and on the'r turn, the get up, giving my and AoO, and with that, I trip them. With the improved Trip feat, do I get to make extra attacks on them because I triped them?

While you can do special attacks, like sunder, disarm, trip, with an AoO, you can not trip someone whith an AoO triggered because he's just standing up from prone.
