Also, the AoO says it is a single melee attack, would i be able to use my stunning fist ability, or smite with that attack if i were a cleric/paladin, and if i was a savy fighter with improved disarm or trip could i do one of those attack? they all state that they are a single attack. which is what the AoO is. Any imput would help with our house rule if their is no ruleing on this thanks. |

| Inigo Carmine06-09-05, 12:50 AM | Yes on all accounts. Sneak attack damage applies whenever the target is denied their dex bonus to AC or flanked (barring a circumstance which denies it, like it is immune to criticals, etc). And yes, an AoO can take the form of a normal melee attack (for damage), a disarm, a trip, or a grapple. For more clarity on this particular rule, peruse the chart on pg 141 in your 3.5 PHB. Pay close attention to the lower right part, and subscript 7. |

Provoking an attack of oppertunity. BAM Shake things up with a trip attack, or better an improved trip. Want to add some more color to your attack? A sneak attack is sure to add some red in thier lives. Want to completely stun them with your combat prowess? Stunning attack is sure to wow them, and a Smite (evil, good, chaos, law, extreem alignment, infadel, threat to the crown) is sure to blow them away. |
