I was wondering if someone could confirm weather u can make a trip attempt with an attack of oppotunity.

Yes. A trip is an "attack." You can take an "attack action" (not a standard action) with an AoO.

From the 3.5 SRD:
Making an Attack of Opportunity: An attack of opportunity is a single melee attack, and you can only make one per round.

7 These attack forms substitute for a melee attack, not an action. As melee attacks, they can be used once in an attack or charge action, one or more times in a full attack action, or even as an attack of opportunity.

Don't forget you need to be wielding a tripping weapon to do so though, or be able to threaten with unarmed strikes. At least, that used to be the case - iirc, the 3.5 rules offer a loophole that allows you to make AoOs with a weapon you don't threaten with as long as you wield another one that does.
