01-14-05, 08:17 AM What happens when you have multiple (3 in this example) attacks in a round and are grappled?
The way I understand it you can have 3 attempts in a round to break the grapple. But is the 1st attempt at your full base attack and then the 2nd at -5 and the last at -10?
What about the creature grappling you does he get his full base attack the entire time or does this tick down by -5 each time, accounting for multiple attempts to maintain the grapple?

01-14-05, 08:36 AM The way I've been running it in my game is that the base attack bonus ticks down by 5 for each successive grapple as a full round action. It hasn't been used much though, as my Players don't tend to favor grappling.

Now if one opponent has more attacks per round then the other, the one with less attacks per round can still make grapple checks against the opponent with the higher # of attacks, but still using the -5 count past his lowest attack. For example:

Fighter 1: BaB 11/6/1
Fighter 2: Bab 8/3

If the two were gappling and fighter 1 uses a full round action to use all his attacks for grappling, then fighter two would be using a BaB of -2 for his 3rd attempt at the grappling check. This of course is my house rule and my Players have been finding it pretty far thus far.

Yes, that's right, just like the PH says.

The defender gets his full BAB.

01-14-05, 10:00 AM The defender always keeps his full BAB. Think of it as his grapple AC. AC doesn't go down just because the attacker has more than 1 attack.

Nope. Escape Artist is a standard action. So you only get one try, unless you have some reason about you causing you to get more then one standard action.
