Main is reason is at the moment my level 12 ranger has a +1 defensive shrt sword and a +2 shock/frost scimitar, that totals around 10,000gp, other than that he has no other magic items, what would the probability of my guy dieing be? im thinking very high. (PS were playing 3.5 and thers a barbarian druid and sorcerer in our party each w/ 10,000 worth of items and were all damn near broke) :help: :thinks: |

If your DM intends that, and adjusts ELs accordingly, there shouldn't be a problem. If it's just sorta happened, he might want to address the issue - maybe make your next adventure a 'treasure hunting' expedition. The game I'm in now is also a little light on items, though not as bad as in your case, and that's largely been because most of our adventures have been story-driven, where we had specific goals. Since we've noticed we're 'low' on items, we decided we'd specifically seek out rumors of treasure, and carry out our explorations with accumulate wealth as our goal. Instead of bugging out as soon as we've rescued the princess or stopped the evil ritual, we'll be securing areas and stripping them of valuable... :D |

There's a Wealth by Level table in the DMG - if nothing else, it's a common, printed baseline that can be somewhat agreed upon. Your campaign may, as typical, vary from this. 3. As to your survivability: in my opinion, if you rely solely on your equipment (and not your brain/wits) to determine your survivability, you're already in trouble. That being said, if you haven't died yet, then you should be doing alright. It's difficult to say more than that without any more information from you on the particulars of the campaign you're in. Side note: proper grammar, punctuation, and formatting makes posts easier to read (like this post!) - just an FYI. strider |
| Pure_bordem10-28-05, 04:01 PM | wel i typed it in like a minute but besides that :dancin: , ummm we are more of less forced to play smart do to that we have nothing in the way of magic stuff, we are always on this story driven things, which are fine, but are getting old and seemingly depriving us, the dm however LOVES to throw big things at us like beholders for example :behold: and the like, he thinks that 10,000 is too much already so ummmm yah, how screwed am I? |
