LordTarmos 01-10-08, 04:32 PM	I saw somwone post on one of these boards 3-4 days ago about a character, I have looked for nearly 4 hours and have yet to find the post, my question is this what book is the weapon enhancement (aptitude) from and what does it do? Thanks for any help
aelryinth 01-10-08, 05:59 PM	It's a common enhancement for Fighter builds since the Tome of 9 Swords came out. FOr +1, you basically gain all the specialization bonuses that you would with another weapon. I.e., if you have the weapon spec tree for longsword, and pick up a Mace with Aptitude, all those feats apply to the Mace. There's another thread about abusing this by taking feats built for specific weapons and applying the abilities to different ones, but I'm pretty sure the language of the feats doesn't allow it (i.e. allowing Three Thunders, only usable with maces, to apply to shortswords. Note Weapon Spec places no such limits on weapon choices.) BTW, if you already have focus/spec in a weapon with aptitude, it gives you another +1/+1 TH/DMG, effectively becoming 'free'. It's a great way to leverage the spec tree for a fighter. Take the tree, grab an aptitude lance, spiked gauntlet, bow, etc. and you get all those feats with all your weapons. Which still doesn't mean the feats are not underpowered, but, it's a step in the right direction. ===Aelryinth
